Learning programming: How to enjoy the process

Today I went down a rabbit hole of learning error handling. It seems like such a huge part of swift that you can't really do much without understanding errors. Until now I've been putting TODO markers everywhere and that felt gross. I still feel like I'm doing them wrong but at least they make more sense.

I wasn't planning to learn errors right now, but one of my principles to how I'm approaching programming is to just go with the flow – work on whatever feels right.

This should be fun – no timelines, no slave driver, just play.

As an 80s kid, I can't help think of the Froot Loops mascot Toucan Sam and his catchline, “Just follow your nose.”
